You’re going to LOVE the professional precision and quality that you can achieve with the Pro-Stitcher Quilting Software!
We offer a Beginner longarm quilting class to get you stitching! This one-on-one training covers everything you need to know to start and finish your quilt. You will learn to load your quilt onto the machine, setup and design your digital quilt space for edge-to-edge quilting, and quilt your quilt from beginning to end. We’ll also cover quilt design, pattern density, and thread color selections and how to import digitally purchased quilt designs. The class will cover the entire quilting process on YOUR quilt that you bring with you to class. Our longarm is a 12-foot Baby Lock Regalia with the Pro-Stitcher 6 Quilting Software System. No worries if you own a different machine, the Pro-Stitcher software system robotics virtually all operate the same, independent from the make and model of your sewing machine/longarm.
Custom Quilting instruction is NOT included in this beginner’s longarm quilting class.
Quilt Requirements: What better way to learn to quilt than by actually quilting. (yay!) We find this the best way to learn to quilt, as you will have a real quilt to practice on and you’ll leave with a finished product. You will need to bring all three parts – quilt top, backing, and batting. Baby quilts or smaller lap/throw size quilts are recommended to finish your quilt in a reasonable time. Both your backing and batting will need to be a MINIMUM of 10″x10″ larger than your quilt top — that’s 5″ larger on EACH side of your top. For example, if your top is 40″x40″, then your backing and batting should be 50″x50″ or larger. If you haven’t already purchased batting, we have several Quilter’s Dream Batting options that you can chose from for in-class purchase. Don’t worry about the thread, as we run a specific type of thread in our machines and have plenty of colors for you to chose from.
Quilter’s Dream Batting Options:
Quilter’s Dream Angel Flame Retardant Quilt Batting (93″) – Great for children’s’ quilts! – $14/yard
Quilter’s Dream White 80/20 Quilt Batting (120″) – $14/yard
Quilter’s Dream Orient BAMBOO Quilt Batting (120″) – $15/yard
Additional items to bring to class: There’s a lot of information to cover in the setup and design process, so we recommend that you bring a notebook and a pen to take notes. Photography and video recording is allowed during the training, if needed. We just ask that you do not post or share them on any social media platforms or personally with others.
Optional Class-Prep: If you have a particular design already in mind that you would like to stitch on your quilt, you can purchase it, download the entire file to a jump drive, and bring it with you to class. For class, we ask that you only purchase quilt designs from Urban Elements, as they are our approved source for digital quilt files. Make sure your design is a pantograph, edge to edge (E2E), or continuous line pattern, as we will only be quilting an all-over quilt pattern in class. (No block, border, etc. designs.)
We’ll go at your pace and tailor the class to your needs – this class is for YOU! We want you to enjoy the process and to go home excited about quilting on your machine!
